About Rachel
Rachel Hartman is the Lead Editor and Co-Founder of DollarVisor, where she oversees every rate table, methodology decision, and editorial standard on the site.
Before starting DollarVisor, Rachel spent six years as a senior rates analyst at a national financial comparison platform, where she built the state-level pricing datasets used in more than 400 consumer guides. She began her career as a business reporter covering banking and insurance for a regional daily.
Rachel created DollarVisor’s core promise (state-level numbers, no pay-to-rank) after watching too many “best of” lists ordered by commission instead of math. She personally signs off on the site’s methodology page and every ranking before it publishes.
Rachel holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Michigan. She lives in Austin, Texas, and yes, she re-shops her own car insurance every single renewal.
